Nothing should cease to amaze me at my age, but so many things still do. Every time I think I have heard it all, something new comes up. This has never been more true than when I volunteer at the Pregnancy Resource Center. What a blessing to be able to serve there in ANY capacity! I treasure each and every opportunity I am given to share the gift of LIFE with clients.
Here is the synopsis of a recent conversation:
Client: I would NEVER give my baby up for adoption. I would never even consider it.
Counselor: But you would have an abortion?
Client: Oh, yes.
Counselor: So you would rather take the life of an unborn baby than to give life to one?
Client: Well, yes.
The client then went on to say that it really isn't a baby, because the brain and spinal cord wasn't completely formed yet. We took the client to The First 9 Months brochure put out by Focus on the Family and showed the client that the brain and spinal cord were formed.
"6 Weeks (gestational age) - Just 4 weeks after fertilization, the baby is growing rapidly and measures 1/8 of an inch long. The basic structure for the entire central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) has formed.
The eyes are developing and the arm and leg buds are now visible. The heart is beating about 80 times a minute. An ultrasound can provide further medical confirmation of pregnancy." (p. 9)
Our conversation went on to TRY and discuss that a baby is a baby...no matter it's size, or location (in or out of the womb).
Much to our delight, the client's pregnancy test came back NEGATIVE!!!
That conversation has gone around and around in my head many times and I think to myself, "What oxymoronic (and I am sure that's not a word) statements the client made." Yet one more example of what a messed up world we live in today. I just do not understand that kind of thinking. But Praise the Lord, HE can help anyone who comes to Him!
James 4:8-9 - Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.

Oh and what my husband and I wouldn't do to adopt and yet people will murder unborn babies and feel better about it. I couldn't agree more. If it wasn't for Jesus I don't think I could see much good left in the world.
Thank you, Diane.
