YEARS ago my Grandpa used to whistle bird calls/songs to the grand kids. At the time I probably could have cared less, and honestly it probably even annoyed me at times. But, being older and wiser, I look back and TREASURE those (and every) moment with my Grandpa. When I was older and I actually heard a live Bobwhite in our backyard I was SO excited! I remember running in to tell my Mom, "There really is a Bobwhite and it sounds just like Grandpa said!!!"
Now I find myself watching out the patio doors at all of the birds (and pesky squirrel) that show up at the suet feeders. The Cardinals are back in all their glory with their renewed head crests/plumes. A HUGE Blue Jay showed up today, too, along with all of the above birds and more that I didn't get pictures of.
Simplicity!! A few dollars in suet cakes and what pleasure.
How good is God?
