Raised

Yes, ANOTHER flower.  BUT, this one is SPECIAL!  This is a petunia (an annual) that came back this year!!!  Even after the winter and no special care, BOOM, I see this thing coming up and sure enough it blossoms!  That's cool, but I certainly had NOTHING to do with it.  I thought it was dead, but it was somehow raised up.
Thank you God for raising me up!!!

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. I Corinthians 6:14

Flower

There are SO many BEAUTIFUL flowers...I love looking and photographing.  Doing the current Bible study in James makes this verse stand out even more.  This beautiful wild flower will pass away...just like the proud rich man...
But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. - James 1:10

Purple

While purple is not my favorite color, this purple flower sure gets my attention every time I see (and smell) it.  Purple is expensive, royal, regal in the Bible and the lilac it dressed in it.
“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day."
- Luke 16:19

Star

Saw these tiny little purple flowers and messed around with taking a few pictures of them.  While I wasn't quite as "overjoyed" as the wise men were to see the star that marked the place where the baby Jesus was in the verse below, I was still quite surprised to see the tiny star in the middle.  How amazing is our Creator God?
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. - Matthew 2:10

Detail

This is my first attempt at a crocheted flower! Yes, I had to make it colorful. While the pattern was simple, it wasn't very specific or detailed. It said you could start with any number of chain stitches, you could use any number of stitches for the petals and you could have any number of petals. I am pretty happy with my first attempt, but while working on this I was thinking about details.

We have been teaching the kids about Moses in our Wednesday night youth program at church. Last week we taught them about the building of the Tabernacle. God gave Moses very specific instructions for every detail of the Tabernacle; from what material to use, to specific measurements and placements. He was even specific about what flowers to use when making the lamp stand - not just any flower, but almond flowers with buds and blossoms. If God cared that much about the details of a lamp stand, how much more must He care about us?

And on the lamp stand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. - Exodus 25:34
