Boat

While this definitely was not on a like in the Middle East, seeing it just reminded me of all the times that Christ was in a boat out on the water.

When evening came, the boat was in the middle of t he lake and he was alone on land.  - Mark 6:47

Withers

After the last week of weather, this is what one area of our grass looks like.  Hopefully you can see the brown, withered area in the foreground and the bright green area in the background.  Can you guess which area gets the sprinkler and which doesn't? :-)

I couldn't help but think of our lives and what they may or may not look like when we get the living water from our Lord Jesus Christ or when we step out from under it...

For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business. - James 1:11

Fire Hydrant

Could it get any better than to have a yellow (or Maize as we call it) fire hydrant instead of a red one? :-) Not for this Michigan girl! It's also right in our front yard. So if there is ever a fire in our neighborhood, there is quick access for the Fire Department to LOTS of water to cool and put out the flames.

I cannot even begin to imagine the torment of the flames of hell...

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. - Luke 16:24

Water

Water. It does a body good. (I know the commercial was originally for milk, but for the sake of this post, we'll use water.) I have been witness - on more than one occasion in the past - to a person's dehydration. The body without enough water = bad things; namely a trip to the Emergency Room!

While our physical body needs water, so does our Spirit and the living water is THE answer. Lord, help me to drink of the free water of life.

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. - Revelation 21:6
