Rolls

These are FAR from unleavened; they have plenty of yeast in them and boy were they yummy!  This was my first attempt at homemade Butter Horn Rolls; a recipe from my dear Amish friend.  It was a perfectly cool, rainy day for chili and home made rolls.

Amish

We got to go and visit our Amish friends today!  As always it was a WONDERFUL visit.  I know that I am not covet or be envious, but I do
treasure some of there simple ways.
The last picture here is of the now-defunct (sadly) Farmers Market in the area.  Each time I see it, I am fascinated.  This building was built to the specifications of Noah's Ark!!!  To look at it and having stepped inside...WOW!

How could one man have built such a thing over 3,000 years ago?
It certainly could have held all animals and such!

Noah did everything just as God commanded him. - Genesis 6:22

Happy Birthday to me!

This was part of my Birthday present today from Bruce!  You may not think it very special, but I do.  I saw this book a few weeks back and thought about getting it.  The sweet, thoughtful husband of mine went back and got it for me!  I can't WAIT to start it.  It's a non-fiction book about how the Amish have some good ideas.  We've jokingly talked a lot about converting to Amish...
Maybe I'll review it on here when I'm done!  :-)

Amish

Amish...a fascination of mine for some time.  God has allowed us to meet a very interesting and friendly Amish couple in Indiana...who we need to go see again, soon!  It has been a privilege to get to know them and listen to their thoughts and beliefs.  This couple is truly the epitome of living in the world, but not of the world.  They host people in their home (and in their meeting place) for dinners.
This picture is not of that couple, but of a random Amish gentleman selling baskets and some other miscellaneous items near a fast-food restaurant that I saw after going to the Amish flea market.
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. - I John 4:5
