Candy canes hang on the Christmas tree right-side up, but it is interesting to look at them upside down. There is a little "story" about the candy cane, and I am not sure just how true it is, but one of the 'meanings' behind the candy cane is that when turned upside down it looks like a 'J' which stands for Jesus. It goes on to talk about the red and white stripes which stand for the blood of Jesus and washing us white as snow. No matter how true, I love the thoughts behind it!
